About Eustala anastera (Walckenaer, 1841)

Female Eustala anastera grow up to 10 millimeters, while males reach up to 9.5 millimeters. The prosoma (cephalothorax) of this species has highly variable coloration that usually matches the coloration of the opisthosoma (abdomen). Color can range from shades of tan to vivid green. Some individuals have a dark median line along the prosoma, like the pictured specimen, and many individuals also display a foliate pattern. The legs are also variable in color and patterning, and are covered in short spines; these spines are most noticeable on male individuals.
