About Eurynolambrus australis H.Milne Edwards & Lucas, 1841
Adults of Eurynolambrus australis measure 50 to 65 mm in size. They have a broad, triangle-shaped carapace that extends over the base of the legs. The carapace can be white, pink, or bright red, with white, grey-brown, and yellow markings. The species' legs are short and flat, with irregular crests. Leg colour is mottled with orange, dark red, and white, and the legs fold neatly underneath the carapace. Chelipeds have a rough, pitted surface, curve inwards, are purple overall, and have a white inner surface. Antennules are typically pale yellow, and eyestalks are red. Eurynolambrus australis is most commonly found among stones and under rocks in the lower and subtidal regions of the intertidal zone, and can occur at depths up to 80 m. It is often found in rock pools that contain coralline turf.
