About Eurillas virens (Cassin, 1857)

This species, commonly called the little greenbul, has the scientific name Eurillas virens (Cassin, 1857). As a small bird, the little greenbul reaches a total length of about 187 mm; its wings measure around 80 mm, and its tail measures around 77 mm. The upper tail and wings are brown, while the breast and flanks are pale grey-greenish. This green coloration is the source of the species' Latin specific epithet virens, which means "green". The little greenbul's bill is brown, its iris is brown, and its feet are light yellow-brown. The little greenbul is distributed across western, central, and eastern Africa. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, and moist savanna. A study on the impact of ecotones on biodiversity has focused on the little greenbul.
