About Eurema simulatrix (Staudinger, 1891)

Eurema simulatrix, commonly known as the changeable grass yellow, is a species of butterfly that belongs to the Pieridae family. This butterfly species is distributed across the range from Burma to Sundaland, as well as in Cambodia and the Philippines. It inhabits secondary or disturbed environments, which include forest clearings, roadsides, riverbanks, parks, and gardens. For male individuals of the species, the forewing length measures between 21 and 26 mm (0.83 to 1.02 inches), while female individuals have forewings ranging from 19 to 25 mm (0.75 to 0.98 inches) in length. Adult Eurema simulatrix can be identified by two cell spots on the underside of their forewings, alongside a large, nearly split reddish-brown apical spot on the forewing.
