About Eurema floricola (Boisduval, 1833)

Eurema floricola, commonly known as the Malagasy grass yellow, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Pieridae. This butterfly can be found in Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, as well as on the islands of Madagascar, the Comoros, Mauritius, Réunion and the Seychelles. Its native habitat is the transition zone between forest and savanna. The larvae of Eurema floricola feed on Desmanthus virgatus, Caesalpinia bonducella, Leucaena glauca, and species from the Mimosa and Entada genera.
