About Euphorbia spathulata Lam.

Euphorbia spathulata Lam. is an annual herb that grows no taller than half a meter. Its leaves are oval-shaped and measure 1 to 3 centimeters long. The upper section of its stem is hairless, and can range in color from bright red to dull red. Tiny glandular flowers grow in inflorescences at the tips of the stems. The fruit is a rounded green capsule a few millimeters wide, with distinct visible bumps across its surface. Inside the capsule are light brown seeds with a net-like texture.
