About Eumorphus quadriguttatus

This description covers two subspecies of Eumorphus quadriguttatus. The nominate subspecies is a medium-sized beetle that measures 10 to 12 mm in length. Its body is black and moderately shiny. The antennae and legs are primarily black, while part of the femur is reddish. Each elytron has two large, pale yellowish spots that are nearly round or slightly transverse. In the antennae, the last three antennomeres are flat and broad. The apical margin of the elytra is broadly rounded in males, while it is clearly prolonged in females. The hairy pad of males is restricted only to the median part of the last two or three abdominal sternites. The subspecies Eumorphus quadriguttatus pulchripes has bright coral-red femora, except for the basal half of the femora.
