About Eudonia cymatias Meyrick

Eudonia cymatias is a moth species belonging to the family Crambidae. It was first described and named by Edward Meyrick in 1884. This species is endemic to New Zealand. The wingspan of adult Eudonia cymatias ranges from 21 to 22 mm. The forewings are fuscous grey, mixed with white and dusted with black scales. The hindwings are pale whitish-grey, with a slight ochreous tint. The postmedian line and a slender hindmarginal suffusion on the hindwings are a darker shade of grey. Adult moths of this species have been recorded flying in January.
