About Euconulus fulvus (O.F.Müller, 1774)
The scientific name of this species is Euconulus fulvus (O.F.Müller, 1774). For explanatory terms used here, refer to the entry on gastropod shell. This species has a shell that measures 2.0-2.5 mm in height and 2.8-3.5 mm in width; the shell is broader than it is high. The shell’s base color is yellowish brown, while the upper surface of the shell is rather pale. The lower side of the shell is fairly silky and smooth. This species’ shell has no umbilicus, and the final whorl bears a faint trace of a keel. This species is found across multiple countries and islands, including the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Great Britain, and Ireland, as well as in other unlisted areas. Euconulus fulvus lives mainly in coniferous and deciduous forests. In these habitats, it can be found within forest litter or underneath pieces of deadwood, and it is able to tolerate non-calcareous substrates.
