About Euchromia amoena Möschler, 1872

Euchromia amoena (Möschler, 1872) has a wingspan ranging from approximately 44 to 52 millimetres, which equals 1.7 to 2.0 inches. Its forewings are black, with a golden-yellow basal half that is red at the base, marked with black veins and a golden-yellow postmedian band. The hindwings are golden yellow, edged with a broad black border along the apical region. The abdomen of this species features two pale yellow bands. The larvae of Euchromia amoena feed on Carissa macrocarpa, Ipomoea, Secamone gerrardi, and Stictocardia tiliifolia. This species is distributed across Bangladesh, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, South Africa, and Tanzania.
