About Euchloe creusa (Doubleday, 1847)

Euchloe creusa, commonly known as the northern marble, is a species of butterfly found in northern North America. This butterfly is mostly white, with black markings on the upperside of forewing tips and its body. The underside of its wings has greenish-grey veins, and this coloring is particularly noticeable on the hindwing. Its wingspan ranges between 24 and 36 mm. Habitats where the northern marble can be found include subalpine moraines, forest clearings, glades, and dry tundra. The flight season of this species runs from late May to mid-July. Northern marble larvae feed on Draba plants and other species in the Brassicaceae family.
