About Eucheilota bakeri (Torrey, 1904)

Eucheilota bakeri, commonly known as the bean clam hydroid, is a hydroid species belonging to the family Lovenellidae. It is found in the Eastern Pacific, ranging along the coasts of the United States and Canada. This species has a life cycle that includes both asexual and sexual stages, and it can reproduce in both of these stages. Asexual reproduction happens through a process called budding, and the individual in this asexual life stage is called a hydroid. Sexual reproduction occurs when the adult form of the species, called a medusa, releases gametes. Hydroids of this species are often found attached to the shells of Gould beanclams.
