About Eubranchus rupium (Møller, 1842)

Eubranchus rupium, commonly known as the green balloon aeolid, is a species of sea slug (a type of nudibranch). It is a marine gastropod mollusc that belongs to the family Eubranchidae.

This species was first described from Greenland. It has been recorded in the North Atlantic Ocean, ranging as far south as the Netherlands, and is classified as a circumpolar species. Most authors consider Eubranchus rupium to be a synonym of Eubranchus olivaceus. It has also been reported along the Pacific coast of North America, reaching as far south as Monterey Bay, California.
