About Eualus cranchii (Leach, 1817)

Eualus cranchii is a species of prawn or shrimp. Adult males grow up to 12 mm (0.47 in) in total length, while adult females can reach up to 22 mm (0.87 in) in length. This species can be distinguished from other members of the genus Eualus by three key features: the carpus of its second pereiopod is divided into six segments, it does not have a mandibular palp, and epipods are present on its first two pereiopods. This species lives in shallow waters across the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.
