Ethmia semiombra Dyar, 1902 is a moth species that belongs to the family Depressariidae. This species is found in Texas (United States) and Mexico. The forewings of Ethmia semiombra measure between 9.2 and 11.7 mm, which is 0.36 to 0.46 inches, in length. The ground color of the forewings is dark across the costal half. On the dorsal half, the ground color is whitish, with a light to heavy gray tinge. The hindwings have a whitish ground color at their base, which fades to pale brownish on the apical half. Adults of the nominate subspecies Ethmia semiombra semiombra have been recorded on the wing in February, May, June and September in Texas, and in July in Tamaulipas. This species is thought to have multiple generations each year. The larvae of Ethmia semiombra likely feed on the plant Ehretia elliptica.
