About Ethmia hodgesella Powell, 1973

Ethmia hodgesella is a moth species that belongs to the Depressariidae family. In the United States, this species can be found in Texas, Arizona, and California, and its range extends along both sides of the central cordillera of Mexico. The forewings of Ethmia hodgesella measure between 6 and 7.8 millimeters, or 0.24 to 0.31 inches, in length. A wavy, snake-like longitudinal line divides the patterning of the forewings. The dorsal area of the forewings is whitish, with three distinct, triangle-shaped dark extensions projecting into it from the wing cell. A noticeable round dark spot sits between and below the first two of these dark extensions. Most of the area of the forewing that lies towards the costa, on the side of the line, is dark brownish gray. The overall ground color of the hindwings is uniform pale gray.
