About Eschscholzia ramosa (Greene) Greene

Eschscholzia ramosa is an annual wildflower that grows from a clump of foliage. Its leaves are segmented, with divided, rounded leaflets. Erect stalks of this plant can reach up to 30 centimeters in height. These stalks bear poppy-like flowers, with yellow petals 0.5 to 2 centimeters long; the petals often have orange spots near their bases. The fruit of Eschscholzia ramosa is a capsule 4 to 7 centimeters long, which holds tiny, netted brown seeds. Many plant specimens previously classified as Eschscholzia elegans are actually this species, Eschscholzia ramosa.
