About Eschscholzia caespitosa Benth.
Eschscholzia caespitosa is an annual herb that looks very similar to its close relative, the California poppy. It grows in patches of foliage, where each leaf is divided into several leaflets. It also produces thin, erect stems that can reach up to 30 centimetres, or 11 and 5 sixths inches, tall. The poppy flowers have petals ranging from orange to yellow, each measuring between 1 and 2 and a half centimetres, which is 1 third to 1 inch, long. The fruit is a cylindrical capsule, 4 to 8 centimetres, or 1 and a half to 3 and 1 sixth inches, long, that holds tiny dark seeds with a net-like pattern.
