About Erythroneura infuscata (Gillette, 1898)

Erythroneura infuscata, commonly known as leafhopper, is a species of leafhopper in the family Cicadellidae. This is a dark, mostly black species that looks distinct from most other members of the subfamily Typhlocybinae. Its black wings and body bear several small pale spots at the wing bases, along the midlength of the body, and on the scutellum. Each wing has a prominent white patch on its costal margin, which is followed by a red mark. The legs and face are whitish. Adult individuals measure 2.8 to 3.0 mm in length. This species occurs in mixed hardwood forest habitats, and adults are attracted to light at night.
