About Erynnis zarucco (Lucas, 1857)

Erynnis zarucco, commonly called the zarucco duskywing, is a species of butterfly belonging to the family Hesperiidae. It is rarely found across a range extending from southern Ontario to the southeastern United States. The wingspan of this species measures between 32 and 38 millimeters. Populations in the deep southern part of its range produce three generations per year, while northern populations only produce two generations per year. The larvae of Erynnis zarucco feed on arboreal and herbaceous plants in the legume family Fabaceae.
