About Erynnis afranius (Lintner, 1878)

Erynnis afranius, commonly called the afranius duskywing or bald duskywing, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Hesperiidae. Its distribution ranges from northern Mexico, through the central United States, to southern Canada, specifically the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. This species has a wingspan measuring 25 to 31 mm. It can produce up to two generations between mid-May and late August. The larvae of Erynnis afranius feed on plants from Lupinus species, Lotus species, and Thermopsis rhombifolia.
