About Erodium botrys (Cav.) Bertol.
Erodium botrys (Cav.) Bertol. begins growth as a flat rosette. Its green leaves are highly lobed and grow on red petioles. The plant reaches heights between 10 and 90 centimeters (3.9 to 35.4 inches), and its stems and foliage are somewhat hairy. It produces small flowers, where hairy, pointed sepals surround five lavender petals marked with purple streaks. The fruit of this filaree is quite long, with a style that can grow up to 12 centimeters (4.7 inches) in length.
Erodium botrys is an annual herb. It is native to most of Eurasia, the Mediterranean region, and North Africa. It has been introduced to many other regions around the world where it grows as a weed, including Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and parts of the Americas.
