Ernodea littoralis Sw., commonly known as beech creeper or coughbush, is a species of flowering plant that belongs to the coffee family, Rubiaceae. It is native to Florida in the United States, the Caribbean region, and Central America extending south to Honduras. This plant grows in sunny, open areas with sandy soil, occurring in habitats including pinelands and dunes. It can tolerate high salt conditions and human disturbance. It grows as a vine-like ground cover reaching 1 to 3 feet in height. It has small, light green, succulent leaves that grow on long, curving, bright red branches. It produces pinkish white, tubular flowers, which are followed by golden berries.
