About Eriogonum ternatum Howell

Eriogonum ternatum Howell is a species of wild buckwheat, commonly known as ternate buckwheat. It is native to the mountain ranges of northern California and southern Oregon, where it grows in serpentine soil within forest habitats. This plant is a perennial herb that forms mats up to half a meter wide. It produces rosetted clusters of oval to rounded, woolly leaves, each leaf approximately one centimeter long. An inflorescence grows from a flowering stem, and bears an umbel of bright yellow flowers.
