About Eriogonum parishii S.Watson

Eriogonum parishii is an annual herb that forms clumps of intricately branched, spreading, hairless green stems. Hairy oval leaves grow around the base of the stems, measuring 2 to 6 centimeters long. Its inflorescence is a spreading array of clusters of tiny pink to reddish flowers that have darker red midribs. Each individual flower is typically less than a millimeter wide and has a fuzzy texture. This species occurs mainly in southern California, where it grows across many mountain ranges including the Sierra Nevada, White Mountains, Inyo Mountains, and extending west through the Transverse Ranges and Peninsular Ranges. It is also found in the southern Peninsular Ranges of Baja California, and in Yavapai County, Arizona. It grows in various mountain slope habitats including sagebrush and chaparral, most commonly on granite sands.
