About Eriodictyon angustifolium Nutt.
Eriodictyon angustifolium has toothed leaves that are roughly 10 centimeters long. The upper surface of its leaves is sticky, while the lower surface is hairy. Its white five-petaled flowers bloom in June, July, or both. In Baja California, this species grows in the foothills of the Sierra de Juarez and the Sierra de San Pedro Martir, and also grows further south on the sky islands of the Sierra de la Asamblea and the Sierra de San Borja. Extract of Eriodictyon angustifolium, unlike extract of Eriodictyon californicum, reduces human hair greying. Sterubin is the most abundant flavonoid found in Eriodictyon angustifolium extract. Consuming tea made from Eriodictyon angustifolium as a dietary supplement supports the prevention of hair graying by reducing DNA damage in CD34+ hair follicular keratinocyte stem cells.
