Eriodictyon altissimum P.V.Wells is an erect shrub that reaches a maximum height of nearly 4 meters. Its larger branches and stems have shreddy bark, while its smaller twigs are covered in a sticky exudate. The leaves are narrow and linear, growing up to 9 centimeters long; leaf undersides are covered in white hairs, and leaf tops are hairless and sticky. Its inflorescence is a curled cluster made up of bell-shaped lavender flowers, each of which measures just over one centimeter long. The fruit this shrub produces is a small capsule that holds many tiny seeds.
