About Erigeron utahensis A.Gray

Erigeron utahensis A.Gray, commonly known as Utah fleabane, is a North American flowering plant species in the family Asteraceae. It is native to the western United States, where it occurs in Arizona, Utah, western Colorado, northwestern New Mexico, and southeastern California (specifically the Providence Mountains within Mojave National Preserve, San Bernardino County). This species is a perennial herb that grows up to 60 cm (2 feet) tall from a sturdy taproot and a branching underground caudex. Its branching stem and leaves are covered in whitish hairs. The inflorescence produces between 1 and 5 flower heads, each measuring 1 to 2 centimeters (0.4 to 0.8 inches) across. The center of each flower head holds yellow disc florets, surrounded by 28 to 40 ray florets that may be white, pink, or lavender.
