About Erigeron filifolius (Hook.) Nutt.
Erigeron filifolius (Hook.) Nutt. is a North American flowering plant species in the Asteraceae family, commonly called thread-leaf fleabane. This species is widespread across much of western North America. It has been recorded in western Canada (British Columbia) and the western United States, occurring primarily east of the Cascade Range crest in Washington, Oregon, and northern California, and extending east to southern Idaho and northeast Nevada. Throughout its range, it grows across a broad elevation range, from near sea level up to 2,400 m (8,000 ft). Erigeron filifolius is a branched perennial herb that grows up to 50 cm (20 in) tall. Its leaves are long, thin, often thread-like, and reach up to 8 cm (3 in) in length. Each stem may produce just one flower head, or flat-topped clusters of 10 or more heads. Each head can hold up to 125 ray florets, which may be white, blue, pink, or lavender, surrounding numerous yellow disc florets.
