About Erica versicolor Andrews

Erica versicolor Andrews is an evergreen shrub. It reaches 3 metres (9.8 feet) in height and 1 metre (3.3 feet) in spread. It produces tiny, deep green, needle-like leaves that are trifoliate, smooth, and arranged in groups of three. Its branches are nearly unbranched. It bears long tubular flowers that grow up to 3 cm (1.2 in) in length. The flowers have a two-tone colouring: they are mostly red, with green or yellow tips. This two-tone colouring is the origin of the Latin specific epithet versicolor. Flowers bloom from October through to April.
