About Eresus sandaliatus (Martini & Goeze, 1778)

Male Eresus sandaliatus generally measure 6 to 9 millimetres (0.24 to 0.35 inches), which is slightly smaller than other species in the Eresus cinnaberinus complex. Males have a distinct bright orange back with four large and two small ebony spots. No white hairs are ever present on their back, and their legs never have red hairs. By contrast, female Eresus sandaliatus measure 10 to 16 millimetres (0.39 to 0.63 inches) and are solid jet-black. This species is native to Europe.
