About Eremias argus Peters, 1869

Eremias argus Peters, 1869 is a species of lizard in the family Lacertidae. It is also known commonly as the Mongolia racerunner, and has the local names 표범장지뱀 in Korean, 丽斑麻蜥 in Chinese, and Монгольская ящурка in Russian. This species is endemic to Asia, and two subspecies are currently recognized. Its geographic range covers China, Korea, Mongolia, and Russia. It occupies a wide variety of habitats, including desert, rocky areas, grassland, shrubland, forest, and freshwater wetlands. It can also be found across a broad range of altitudes, from 50 m to 3,400 m, or 160 ft to 11,150 ft. Eremias argus reproduces via oviparity.
