This species, Eremalche exilis (A.Gray) Greene, is an annual herb. Its stems are mostly decumbent, growing along the ground, and covered in hairs, reaching a maximum length of 40 cm (16 in). Its leaves grow up to 2.5 cm (0.98 in) long, with three to five lobes that may have toothed tips. Solitary flowers develop in leaf axils; each flower is cup-shaped, colored white, pink, or very pale purple, and is usually less than 1 cm (0.39 in) wide. Its fruit is disc-shaped and divided into up to 13 segments. This plant flowers from late winter through spring.
