About Episparis liturata Fabricius, 1787
The male Episparis liturata has a wingspan of 41 mm. Its head, thorax, abdomen, and wings are all pale dull reddish brown. The forewings feature white lines on the subbasal and postmedial areas. A yellow patch occurs at the lower angle of the cell, and an irregular white spot is found on the discocellulars. There is an indistinct medial dark line that curves outward around the cell. A pale sinuous postmedial line extends from a white spot on the costa, and the apical patch is yellow. The hindwing has a dark mark on its discocellulars. The underside of both wings is white. Caterpillars of this species are pale green, with pink or purplish patches, white dots, and a dorsolateral white line. The setae on the caterpillars are short, and the chalazae are weakly developed. These caterpillars are documented feeding on species of the genera Adina, Mitragyna, and Schleichera.
