Episimus tyrius, commonly called the maple tip borer moth or maple leaftier moth, is a moth species that belongs to the family Tortricidae. This species is found in the eastern United States, ranging from New York to Florida and west to Texas. Its wingspan measures 9 to 12 millimeters. In Florida, this moth is active year-round, while in other parts of its range, it flies between June and August. The larvae of this species feed primarily on maples of the genus Acer, but they may also consume redbay (Persea borbonia) and Carolina laurelcherry (Prunus caroliniana).
