About Epicyme rubropunctaria (Doubleday, 1843)

Epicyme is a monotypic moth genus (a genus containing only one species) that belongs to the family Geometridae. This genus was described by Edward Meyrick in 1885. The only species belonging to this genus is Epicyme rubropunctaria, commonly known as the red-spotted delicate. This species was originally described by Edward Doubleday in 1843. It is distributed across New Zealand, the Australian Capital Territory, Tasmania, and Victoria. The wingspan of this moth measures approximately 25 millimeters. Larvae of Epicyme rubropunctaria have been documented feeding on plant species from the genera Haloragis, Gaultheria, and Geranium.
