About Entypus fulvicornis (Cresson, 1867)
Entypus fulvicornis (Cresson, 1867) is a species of spider wasp. Individuals are medium-sized to large wasps, but they are not as large as wasps from the genera Pepsis or Hemipepsis. This species has a strong, muscled physique, which differs from the build of most other spider wasps, with the exception of Pepsis and Hemipepsis. Unlike other species in the genus Entypus, which have orange wings, Entypus fulvicornis has black or dark brown wings. It has yellow antennae, a trait that is shared by many other members of its genus. Entypus fulvicornis is distributed in eastern North America. It typically inhabits open fields and forest edges, and is never found in deep woods.
