About Entoloma sericellum (Fr.) P.Kumm.

Entoloma sericellum (Fr.) P.Kumm. is a species of mushroom-forming fungus in the Entolomataceae family. Its cap can grow up to 5 centimeters (2 inches) wide, and is dry, white, and covered in tiny fibrils. The gills of this fungus are white and fragile. The stipe can reach up to 5 cm long, is thin, white, and sometimes translucent. As the fungus ages, both the cap and stipe turn yellow; as spores mature, the gills develop a pinkish color. This species grows in conifer and hardwood forests across North America, and it is classified as inedible.
