About Entolasia marginata (R.Br.) Hughes

Entolasia marginata (R.Br.) Hughes, commonly called bordered panic grass, is a grass species that occurs naturally in eastern Australia, tropical Asia, and the Pacific region. When growing freestanding, it reaches a maximum height of 0.8 metres; when growing supported by other plants, it can grow over two metres tall. Its specific epithet marginata refers to the pale vein-like margins of its leaves. Robert Brown was the first botanist to publish this species, with the type specimen recorded as "(J.) v.v.". The species was formally published in Brown's 1810 work Prodromus Florae Novae Hollandiae et Insulae Van Diemen.
