The straightfin barb, scientifically Enteromius paludinosus, is a ray-finned fish species that belongs to the Cyprinidae family. Some sources currently include Enteromius pleurogramma within this species. While E. pleurogramma is definitely extremely closely related to the straightfin barb, it is currently recognized as a separate, distinct cryptic species.
