Enoplochiton niger (Barnes, 1824) is a very large chiton species that can reach a maximum length of 20 centimeters (7.9 inches). This species is brown in color. Compared to Enoplochiton echinatus, a similar-sized species found in the same region, Enoplochiton niger does not have large spines. This chiton is distributed along the Pacific coast of South America, spanning from Coquimbo, Chile to Talara, Peru. It lives in the intertidal zone and is omnivorous.
