Enoclerus sphegeus, commonly known as the red-bellied clerid, is a species of checkered beetle belonging to the family Cleridae. It is distributed across Central America and North America. This species is a predator of many small insects, and it is an important predator of the bark beetle Dendroctonus ponderosae. Specifically, the larvae of Enoclerus sphegeus prey on the larvae and eggs of Dendroctonus ponderosae. Enoclerus sphegeus pupates underground.
