About Englerophytum natalense (Sond.) T.D.Penn.
Englerophytum natalense, commonly known as the silver-leaf milkplum, is a medium-sized evergreen tree. It grows along forested escarpments, ranging from East Africa to South Africa. Its leaves are arranged alternately or in spirals, and are somewhat crowded near the ends of branches. The upper leaf surface is glossy green to greyish green, while the lower surface is covered in silvery hairs. This species has a straight stem with smooth bark, and its young branches are covered in dense brownish hairs. The plant produces milky latex. It acts as a larval food source for the butterfly subspecies Euptera pluto kinugnana, Pseudacraea boisduvalii trimeni, P. eurytus imitator, and P. lucretia.
