About Elysia rufescens (Pease, 1871)

Elysia rufescens (Pease, 1871) has an olive green body marked with large white spots that are often arranged in a reticulated pattern. It grows to approximately 6 centimetres, or 2.4 inches, in length. Its parapodia are somewhat convoluted, with dark blue edges and a submarginal orange line. Its rhinophores are rolled, with blunt, greyish ends. This species occurs in the Pacific Ocean. Its documented range includes coastlines of South Africa, Réunion, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, Japan, Guam, Samoa, Tahiti, Hawaii, and Australia.
