Elysia diomedea is a colorful sacoglossan sea slug found in the eastern Pacific Ocean off Central America.

About Elysia diomedea (Bergh, 1894)

Elysia diomedea reaches a maximum length of approximately 50 millimetres (2.0 inches). Its base color is pale green, marked with longitudinal white streaks. Its parapodia are densely convoluted, edged with orange and black, and are not joined at the front. When the parapodia are spread apart, blue spots underneath are revealed. Sections of the gut branch into the foot, creating green patches that are separated by translucent white streaks. The rhinophores have longitudinal yellow and black stripes. This species is found in the eastern Pacific Ocean, off the coasts of Central America, including the Gulf of Panama and the Gulf of California, where it is common. It occurs at depths of up to 20 metres (66 feet).
