Scientific name: Elymus athericus (Link) Kerguélen. This species is also referenced as Thinopyrum acutum, commonly called sea couch. It is a perennial grass species belonging to the family Poaceae, also known as the true grasses. It has a self-supporting growth form and simple, broad leaves. Individual plants can reach a height of 65 cm. This species is invasive in Mont-Saint-Michel Bay, where it has altered the local area's ecology.
