About Elmera racemosa (S.Watson) Rydb.

Elmera racemosa is a species of flowering plant in the Saxifragaceae family. It is the only species that makes up the entire genus Elmera. Its native growing range extends from British Columbia in southwestern Canada to the states of Washington and Oregon in the northwestern United States. The genus Elmera was named to honor Adolph Daniel Edward Elmer (1870–1942), an American botanist and plant collector. This genus was first published and described in 1905, on page 97 of volume 22 of *North American Flora*, edited by N.L. Britton and colleagues. The specific epithet racemosa comes from the word 'racemus', which means cluster. There are two known synonyms for this species: Elmera racemosa var. puberulenta C.L.Hitchc. and Heuchera racemosa S.Watson.
