About Ellida caniplaga Walker, 1856

Ellida caniplaga, commonly known as the linden prominent moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Notodontidae. Its geographic range extends from Texas to Florida in the southern United States, northward to New Brunswick, and westward to Ontario and Minnesota. The wingspan of this species measures between 34 and 44 mm. Adult moths are active from April through September each year. In the southern part of its range, this species produces two generations per year. The larvae of Ellida caniplaga feed on the leaves of plants from the Tilia genus.
