Elipsocus hyalinus is a species of Psocoptera belonging to the Elipsocidae family. It can be found in Great Britain and Ireland, and is also common in Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Individuals of this species are yellowish-black in colour. This species feeds on a variety of fruits and berries, including those from horse chestnut, plum, rowan, snowberry, and wayfaring tree. It also feeds on a range of tree species: alder, ash, beech, birch, blackthorn, broom, Chinese juniper, elder, hawthorn, hazel, ivy, juniper, larch, oak, pine, sycamore, sea buckthorn, spruce, turkey oak, and willow.
