Elaeodendron schinoides Spreng., commonly called spoonwood or smalblad, is a species of flowering plant that belongs to the family Celastraceae. This species grows as a medium-sized tree native to the southern region of the Western Cape province in South Africa. It bears opposite leaves that release elastic threads when broken, and produces red fleshy fruit that dries out later in the year.
